Overview:

Real leather you can check with your fingers. The body is cowhide 1.3-1.5 mm thick, with a pebble grain pressed into the hide rather than printed on. The pebbled surface hides the small scuffs of daily use, and a damp cloth is all the care it asks for.

Honest about its size. This large handbag is wider at the top than at the base: 17.7 inches across the top, 16.5 inches across the flat bottom, 11.8 inches tall and 5 inches deep, 12.4 liters in all. A tablet, books, a notebook, a wallet, makeup and a scarf fit inside. For work, a 13-inch laptop fits with the zipper closed; a 16-inch laptop leaves the zipper partly open.

Soft by design, flat underneath. The body is unstructured, so it relaxes when the bag is empty and settles around what you pack. Under the lining, a light insert keeps the bottom flat, and four conical silver-tone feet stand at the corners of the base. A single top zipper closes the main compartment, which is lined in polyester twill, black in Black and light beige in the other seven colors, with the zip pocket on one long wall and the two slip pockets on the other.

Two pairs of handles, two ways to carry. The short handles are 15 inches long with a 4.7-inch drop, for carrying in the hand. The long handles are 25 inches long with an 11-inch drop, for the shoulder, sewn to the outer walls with leather tabs. Every color shares the same cut, size, handles, zipper, pockets and feet, for a woman who would rather pay for the leather than for a label.
